For each reflection paper, select one article/reading that you find interesting, apply the key claims or research findings to your life, and write about the result. There are three reflection papers. For the first reflection paper, you may select any reading from the assigned readings in September. For the second reflection paper, you may select any reading from the assigned readings in October. For the third reflection paper, you may select any reading from the assigned readings in November. Once you select a reading, summarize the primary goals, findings, and claims in the reading, using only 1-2 paragraphs. Then apply the key claims or research findings to your life and describe your experience. Finally, compare your experience with what you would expect based on what was written in the reading. Did your experience match what you would expect based on what was written in the article/reading? Was there anything that was surprising that you would not expect based on what was written in the article/reading?

As an example, you might choose to base your assignment on the Maller et al. (2005) article. In the first section of your assignment, in 1-2 paragraphs, summarize the primary goals, findings, and claims discussed in the article. Then apply some of these goals, findings, or claims to your life. For instance, you might choose to compare the restorative benefits of sitting in a comfortable chair vs. taking a nature walk when you are experiencing mental fatigue. At the end of a work day, sit in a comfortable chair for 30 minutes, and at the end of a different work day, take a walk in an nature park. Examine your experience across the two days, paying close attention your perceptions of the restorative effects of sitting in a comfortable chair vs. taking a walk in nature, and write about your reflection in a second section of your assignment. What did it feel like? In a third section of your assignment, compare your experience with what you might have predicted based on what was written in the article/reading. Did your experience match what the researchers found, or was your experience different? Describe and explain.
